Belfast’s new Transport Hub gains planning approval

NORTHERN Ireland’s Department for Infrastructure has given the green light for the construction of an all-new integrated transport interchange in the centre of Belfast.

Planning approval for the Belfast Transport Hub was given on March 21, paving the way for the new multi-million pound facility, which will be built on Translink land near the current Europa Buscentre and Great Victoria Street station.

When completed in around five years’ time, the hub will provide the main transport gateway for Belfast, with rail, coach and bus connections to all parts of Northern Ireland and beyond.
