Wootton Bassett report pinpoints steam-braking capability issues

THE Rail Accident Investigation Branch has published its final analysis into the near catastrophic incident at Wootton Bassett Junction on March 7, 2015.

Bulleid Pacific No. 34067 Tangmere failed to stop at a red signal protecting the junction, only stopping once it had straddled both the ‘up’ and ‘down’ Badminton lines.
