Services to Windermere and Barrow-in-Furness became the first to be worked by then new CAF DMUs in July, and with additional sets now in Northern’s operational fleet the TOC is able to diagram the units for all services on one of the UK’s most important branch lines.
Nearly 16 million visitors travel to the Lake District every year, more than any other national park, making it a more popular destination than most major cities.
