Northern and Greater Anglia increase use of new trains during August

NORTHERN and Greater Anglia (GA) introduced more new trains to their routes throughout August.

GA’s bi-mode Class 755 No. 755410 made a low-key debut on July 29, between Lowestoft and Norwich, with services having now expanded to include Great Yarmouth and the busy Norwich-Ely-Cambridge route.

Class 755 No. 755418 catches the low sun as it approaches Waterbeach on August 13 with the 18.40 Norwich-Cambridge train. It was the first day of operation of the bi-mode trains on this route. Use of electric power from Ely to Cambridge will happen later. TOBY RADZISZEWSKI

Units on test and undertaking platform gauging checks have visited stations, including the rebuilt platform at Sheringham, and following the initial launch GA has planned a formal event for the Stadler-built units on September 4 at Norwich, with trips to Yarmouth and Lowestoft.
