Liverpool signalling upgrade next month

LIME Street and Edge Hill stations in Liverpool will be closed on November 2-3 as Network Rail undertakes a multi-million pound signalling upgrade at Edge Hill.

More than £300million is being invested in railways in the Liverpool City Region, much of it on renewing signalling between Weaver Junction and Lime Street. One of the final pieces of the jigsaw will be the transfer of signalling around Edge Hill to Manchester ROC on November 2-3. NETWORK RAIL

The work will include commissioning of new signals and the transfer of control from local signalboxes to Manchester Railway Operating Centre (ROC), as part of the £340million Liverpool City Region rail upgrade.
