THE Caledonian Railway, running between Brechin and Bridge of Dun, held a diesel weekend on August 17-18.
All trains were worked by a pair of Sulzer Type 2s – Class 26 No. D5314 and Class 27 No. D5370. Only one was double headed on the Saturday, returning top-and-tailed.

All other trains were headed by one loco or the other.
Brakevan rides were available at Bridge of Dun, with Class 08 No. D3059 (08076) and
0-4-0DE No. 211 Rolls (Yorkshire 2628 of 1956).
It should be noted this railway has a good collection of steam and diesel locos, but there is a strict policy of no public admittance to sheds, workshops or yards, not even by prior arrangement, thus restricting viewing of non-running locos.
