RAVENGLASS & Eskdale Railway Preservation Society’s (RERPS) 1929-built Krauss 4-6-2 No. 8457 is to be named Whillan Beck.
It was bought at the beginning of 2016.
The name derives from the water course which passes under Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway (R&ER) at its Dalegarth terminus and ties in with R&ER locos named after local rivers: River Irt, River Esk and River Mite.

Members also decided it will receive a Caledonian Railway blue livery – this option securing more than 50% of the votes cast.
The Train From Spain Appeal has been helping towards the cost of buying the loco and overhauling it prior to entering service, and still remains open.
The loco completed a testing programme at R&ER through late November and December with work now continuing at Old Hall Engineering in Bouth.
A new tender also has to be constructed.
