Using Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) money, the Sussex line hopes that it will be able to transform around half of its current running shed at Sheffield Park into a museum display, which will improve access and interpretation of some of its historic out-of-service engines.

A rolling road will be deployed to demonstrate how the valve gear of a tank engine functions, much how ‘Merchant Navy’ No. 35029 Ellerman Lines was previously exhibited at York.
