An event to mark the life of Adrian Shooter CBE, the man who transformed the railways, will take place in Leamington Spa, Royal Pump Rooms at 19:30 on Thursday, 13 April.
A legend in railway circles, Adrian died in December 2022, having suffered from Motor Neurone Disease, and any profits from this event will go to the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Paying tribute to Adrian’s life, achievements, and vision will be by Ian Baxter, the president of the Friends of Leamington Station, Strategy Director of SLC Rail and a close personal friend.

The event has been organised by the Leamington Society and Friends of Leamington Station, and is sponsored by SLC Rail and BA Events. There will be just 250 tickets available.
A lifetime railwayman, Adrian ran Red Star parcels, was founder and MD of Chiltern Railways and later chaired London Overground, Tyne & Wear Metro, DB Regio UK (Deutsche Bahn), Laing Rail and West Midlands CBI Council.
He also built a two-foot gauge line around his Oxfordshire home where he ran Darjeeling Himalayan Railway 0-4-0ST No. 19.
After retiring from Chiltern Railways, Adrian set up Vivarail in 2012 which specialised in converting former London Underground trains.
