Epping Ongar Railway has announced that Great Western Railway Castle class steam locomotive 4079 Pendennis Castle will visit its Steam Gala in June.
The Steam Gala will take place 23 to 25 June and the locomotive will operate trains all three days of the Gala.
British Railways pannier locomotive 9466 will also be visiting for the gala, alongside the railway’s own 4953 Pitchford Hall, Prairie L150 and Hawthorn Leslie saddle tank, Isabel.

The Essex-based railway run heritage services between North Weald, Epping Forest and Ongar on a stretch of line that was formerly part of the London Underground Central Line.
The visit of Pendennis Castle is courtesy of the Great Western Society and Didcot Railway Centre.
