Embsay carriage shed extension completed

THE Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway’s 40m extension to its carriage shed at Embsay has been completed by Spanlite UK Ltd.

The new structure is formed of plastisol-coated steel panels over a galvanised-formed steel frame, and almost doubles the length of the original 50m shed.

The extension has been built to safeguard the future of Embsay’s fleet of Mk1s and is capable of stabling five of the coaches on each of its two roads. JOHN BEESLEY
