After being placed on UK metals, the loco was hauled to the EMD engineering facility at Longport, Stoke-on-Trent on August 20 by Derby-based Rail Operations Group, using
Class 37 No. 37611.

For the move, the loco was given a TOPS number of 66999 and allocated to a ROG pool.
No. 6601 will return to Holland in September once the contracted work is completed.
However, several other locos are expected to follow the same route to Longport for repairs.
The EMD site is part of Progress Rail at Longport and provides a variety of engineering services for Class 66 and other locos.
