Footbridge of the future?

A JOINT entry by Danish and Czech designers beat more than 120 designs from 19 countries to triumph in a competition to create a new generation of passenger footbridges for British stations.

Gottlieb Paludan Architects, of Denmark, and Strasky, Husty and Partners, of the Czech Republic, presented a bridge which was judged to have “convincingly addressed the wide range of practical challenges whilst offering a bold, elegant and uncluttered response that would create an uplifting experience to suit many contexts”. 

The winning entry in the Network Rail/RIBA footbridge competition by Gottlieb Paludan Architects, of Denmark, and Strasky, Husty and Partners, of the Czech Republic. NETWORK RAIL

The competition was run by Network Rail and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), seeking designs for a new type of fully accessible footbridge.
