South Devon pannier back in traffic

LONDON Transport-liveried 0-6-0PT No. L92 (ex-GWR ‘57XX’ No. 5786) gets away from Buckfastleigh with the 12.15 to Totnes Riverside on August 4.

This was the locomotive’s first run under its own power following major firebox repairs, having passed a steam test on July 29.

The pannier had worked a test run with ‘4575’ 2-6-2T No. 5526 on the 10.45 service earlier that morning, and was subsequently deemed fit to go solo later that day. RON COVER
