BRITAIN’S least used railway station is Barry Links, between Dundee and Carnoustie, which takes over the mantle from Shippea Hill, in Cambridgeshire.
The news was contained in the round up of passenger station useage from the Office or Rail and Road for 2016/7.
Barry Links is an unstaffed station, which is served by just two ScotRail trains each day, and recorded only 24 passengers.

Local councillor Brian Boyd said the station was used more than the figures suggested, as many people buy Carnoustie tickets but get off at Barry Links.
He said he expected the station would get more use in 2018 when Carnoustie hosts golf’s Open Championship.
Shippea Hill numbers rose from 12 to 156, partly because of publicity from Great British Bake Off finalist Ian Cumming offering mince pies to people who disembarked at the station on Christmas Eve 2016.
