THE Fifty Alliance’s Nos. 50007 Hercules and 50049 Defiance look set to take their distinctive EE sound back to Cornwall in June.
This follows on from a return to their West Coast Main Line roots in October 2017.
Pathfinder Tours has booked the 5,400hp pair for a midsummer outing from the West Midlands to the popular ‘Mazey Day’ celebrations in Penzance on June 23.

After an early start from Tame Bridge Parkway with DB Cargo traction, the train picks up at Birmingham New Street, Stourbridge Jct, Kidderminster and Droitwich Spa, before switching to Class 50 power at Worcester Shrub Hill.
Further calls are then made at Cheltenham, Cam & Dursley and Bristol Parkway before the train heads west.
Passengers can alight at Truro and St Erth (for St Ives) or continue to enjoy the festivities at the end of the line.
