A FAREWELL mainline trip for Hawskworth 0-6-0PT No. 9466 will act as the memorial train for its late owner Dennis Howells, but also act as a charity fundraiser. Mr Howells died on August 18.
The Dennis Howells Memorial Train, will operate on October 20, is almost certainly to be the final mainline run for No. 9466 as its insurance for working on Network Rail expires four days later.
Running as a local GWR service, No. 9466 will haul just three carriage on a special working from Drayton Green (on the Greenford branch) over the GW/GW joint line to Princes Risborough.

Operated by the West Coast Railway Company and assisted by London Transport Museum as well as the Chinnor & Princes Risborough and Mid-Norfolk Railways, approximate timings are Drayton Green 10.15, West Ruislip 11.00 and arriving at Princes Risborough at 12.30. Final times to be confirmed by Network Rail. Rolling stock will be West Coast Railway Mk 1s.
The train will have just 128 seats priced at £55 each which includes a donation to St Lukes Hospice, Harrow. Tickets are available via the Mid Norfolk Railway’s website http://mnr.org.uk/9466railtour and ALL profits will be donated to St Luke’s Hospice where Dennis passed away.
